Found in the most southeasterly part of Riverside, California, the neighborhood of Orangecrest is a fabulous place to buy an Inland Empire home. The name of the community reflects its citrus-oriented history, which includes a great deal of it being used for citrus fruit production until the early 1980s. It is a relatively new addition to Riverside, and much of it was annexed into the city in 1986. By then, the transition from agriculture to residential developments had already begun, and it continues today. Orangecrest is a master-planned community, developed with recreational, educational, commercial, and residential uses. Because of additional annexations, the neighborhood has continued to grow, from 947 acres to a new total of 2,461 acres.
In addition to being relatively new and master-planned, Orangecrest also boasts an excellent location. The neighborhood is bordered by Mission Grove on the north, Woodcrest on the south and west, and March Joint Powers Authority land on the south and east. Despite being newer than some Riverside neighborhoods, Orangecrest is well-established and is a highly desirable address in the city. It is well-served by public parks and facilities, including the 30-acre Orange Terrace Community Park and its community center's 24,000-square-feet, in addition to the full-service library, which is 3,000-square-feet. The Bergamont and Thundersky neighborhood parks are also worth noting, collectively providing picnic facilities, exercise courses, and athletic courts and fields. Additionally, there are some conveniently located shopping centers in the neighborhood at Van Buren Boulevard and Trautwein Road.
On top of all of these benefits of living in Orangecrest, the diversity of Orangecrest real estate is also enticing. Homes for sale in Orangecrest are predominantly single-family residences, but they vary in age, size, and architectural style. Because of the diversity, listing prices for available Orangecrest properties fall in a broad range certain to accommodate the budgets of singles, couples, families, empty-nesters, and retirees.
